Well it is that time of year again, the 2008 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is in full swing here in South Dakota. I am not a rider, but enjoy the opportunity that the rally affords to meet Brothers from throughout the country. While I may be a little late getting this out, the following meetings are available for any Brothers who will be at Sturgis this year:
Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2008 @ 7:00 P.M. : Rapid City Lodge 25 will be meeting at the Masonic Temple in Rapid City. From what I understand from their Secretary, this will only be a normal stated meeting and perhaps a little degree practice. However, I have had the pleasure of visiting Lodge 25 before and the Brothers there are very kind and accommodating. I’m sure it would be an enjoyable evening.
Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008 @ 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.: Deadwood Lodge 7 will be holding a degree festival for a few new Masons. The Entered Apprentice, Fellowcraft, and Master Mason degrees will be held during the day at the Lodge building in downtown Deadwood (next to the Silverado). This will also afford a chance for any Brothers to admire the historic lodge building in Deadwood and an excellent chance to see some South Dakota Degree work, as well as beat the heat.
